Jeffrey Shi

Jeff qualified for the U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp in 2016, 2017, and 2018. In 2018, he won a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Jeff has over 8 years of Chemistry Olympiad tutoring experience with students of all levels. His students have won many awards including qualifying for the USNCO study camp, High Honors, and Honors.

In addition to chemistry, Jeff has also received a Silver Medal in the USA Physics Olympiad and Top 50 in the USA Biology Olympiad. Jeff graduated from MIT in 2023 with a BS in Chemistry and Biology and is currently in medical school at Weill Cornell Medicine.

Joe is from the UK. In 2025, he won a gold medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad in the UAE and a silver medal at the International Biology Olympiad in the Philippines.

In 2024 he placed top 70 in the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge, which is aimed at (the equivalent to) 11th graders and was invited to a residential camp.

Additionally, he also received Top Gold in both first rounds of the British Physics Olympiad and the British Astronomy & Astrophysics Olympiad.

What topics do you cover?

We cover all areas of Olympiad chemistry, including physical, organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry. Depending on your goals, sessions can focus on specific topics, comprehensive USNCO preparation, IChO-level material, or general problem-solving strategies.

How long is each session?

Most sessions are 60 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged for intensive problem-solving, mock exams, or competition preparation. Scheduling is flexible and can be tailored to each student's needs.

What is your pricing?

Our current price is $160/hour.

How are lessons conducted?

All lessons take place through Zoom and are strictly one-on-one with active, engaging conversation between the tutor and the student. The tutor will engage and guide the student through new material.
